Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Floriana, Malta. The Real Estate Project Manager is responsible for overseeing property development projects from planning through completion, ensuring they are delivered in line with the company’s strategy, quality standards, budgets and timelines. Acting as the owner’s technical representative, the role manages external project teams, consultants, contractors, procurement and contract administration, while coordinating regulatory approvals, monitoring project risks and costs, and implementing consistent project-management standards across all developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Oversight & Strategic Alignment
- • Ensure projects align with the company’s real estate development strategy and are managed effectively.
- • Oversee external project management teams, ensuring compliance with project objectives, quality standards, and timelines.
- • Play a hands-on role in project execution, balancing oversight with direct involvement in key decision-making.
- • Monitor the progress of real estate developments, ensuring they meet financial and operational targets.
- Technical & Contractual Management
- • Act as the owner’s technical representative, providing oversight and direction to external project managers.
- • Oversee procurement processes, ensuring competitive, fair, and efficient contractor selection.
- • Manage contract administration, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations, timelines, and budgetary constraints.
- • Liaise with architects, engineers, legal advisors, and other professionals to ensure smooth contract execution.
- • Engage with regulatory authorities to obtain necessary approvals and ensure compliance with development regulations.
- Project Governance & Best Practices
- • Provide external project teams with templates, best practices, and access to relevant project data to standardize operations.
- • Implement structured project management frameworks and methodologies, ensuring compliance with company protocols.
- • Establish a repository of best practices, lessons learned, and industry standards, facilitating continuous learning.
Requirements and Skills
- • Degree in Project Management, Construction, Engineering, Architecture or a related field.
- • Relevant experience managing real estate development or construction projects.
- • Knowledge of procurement, contracts, budgets, project scheduling and regulatory approvals.
- • Proficiency in project management and reporting tools.
- • Strong planning, organisational and cost-control skills.
- • Commercial awareness and sound decision-making.
- • Effective stakeholder, consultant and contractor management.
- • Strong problem-solving, negotiation and risk-management skills.
- • Ability to interpret technical drawings and project documentation.
- • Clear communication, reporting and attention to detail.
